چکیده

The development of fluorometric detection methods for toxic metal ions in real samples and inside cellular environments using fluorescent dyes has gained tremendous research interest. This work represents the design synthesis a 1,8-naphthalimide-based visible light absorbing fluorescence probe His-NMI-Bu showing an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) feature. Photophysical properties fluoroprobe are investigated in-depth through combination steady-state, time-resolved spectroscopic techniques, DFT calculation. displays outstanding pH tolerance range 5–10 as evident from UV–Vis. measurements. exhibits chelation with Hg2+-induced attenuation via PET solution, thus acting suitable sensor mercury LOD 0.52 µM. high sensitivity selectivity towards Hg2+ validated titration various ions. Banking on its intriguing solid-state emissive properties, dye-loaded filter paper-based sensing is also developed demonstrating micromolar range. Finally, fluorophore depicts selective localization lysosomal compartment live cells which assists further to monitor presence lysosome similar depletion.

Dissecting the effect of anions on Hg2+ detection using a FRET based DNA probe.

Many biosensors have been developed to detect Hg(2+) using thymine-rich DNA. While sensor response to various cations is often studied to demonstrate selectivity, the effect of anions has been largely overlooked. Anions may compete with DNA for metal binding and thus produce a false negative result. Anions cannot be added alone; the cation part of a salt may cause DNA compaction and other effec...

Ratiometric detection of Hg2+ ions: an allosterically synchronized Hg2+/Li+ switch based on thiacalix[4]crown.

A new heteroditopic chemosensor based on the 1,3-alternate conformation of thiacalix[4]crown shows a ratiometric fluorescence response towards Hg(2+) ions. Further, a negative allosteric behaviour between Hg(2+)/Li(+) ions is observed. Thus, metal ion exchange triggers a Hg(2+)/Li(+) switchable fluorescent chemosensor.

Naphthalene-based Azo-azomethine Chemosensor: Naked Eye Detection of Fluoride in Semi-aqueous Media

A new azo-azomethine chemosensor containing active phenolic sites, H2L, has been designed and synthesized for rapid detection of inorganic fluoride over the other anions, such as Clˉ, Brˉ, Iˉ, AcOˉ, H2PO4ˉ, NO3ˉ, N3ˉ in DMSO/water (90/10) media. The 1H NMR titration revealed that the colorimetric response was considered to be the direct consequence of hydrogen-bond formation between phenolic gr...

Gold nanorods-based FRET assay for ultrasensitive detection of Hg2+.

A fluorescence method for detecting mercury ion in a homogeneous medium is proposed with gold nanorods (GNRs) as a fluorescence quencher on the basis of the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Under the optimum conditions, the method exhibits a dynamic response range from 10 pM to 5 nM with a detection limit of 2.4 pM.
